Priceless.

I am glad to see this happening. Western Europe is committing cultural and demographic suicide and given the rise of China there is absolutely no good reason for the US to have a hostile relationship with Russia - quite the contrary. The American foreign policy establishment for at least the last 25 years has been full of incompetents with minimal vision or foresight, at least when it comes to the interests of our nation though quite good at their personal bust out operations. One benefit of telling the EU they need to shoulder their own defense costs is perhaps it will concentrate their minds a bit about the massive cultural and economic damage of their immigration policies.

For all of the talk of the adults being back in charge under Biden, the Trump approach thus far is the first time there has been realism in the conversation. Ukraine isn't going to "win" and the only question was ever "how badly will they lose". Getting Ukraine wrapped up will be one potential headache out of the way.

They were never expected to win, it was the official line from the DoD that it was all about weakening Russia. If it all went according to plan, sanctions along with battlefield loses would trigger regime change and maybe the breakup of Russia. In Russia political changes were triggered by the loses in the second Crimean War, the Russo-Japan war and of course WW1. The war wasn’t a total loss for the Ziocons. With Russia weakened they were able to turn Syria into a failed state eliminating the last hostile regime on Israel ‘s border. That effectively neutered Hezbollah by isolating it from Iran.

Yeah, we will see. His original Ukraine point man assigned to end the war in 100 days was embedded in the blob, working on the Ukraine project through an NGO. He can up with the “maximum pain” plan for Russia to try and bully Putin to the negotiating table. Glad to see he is no longer mentioned. It is good that Trump is backed up by Vance, Musk and his AG. Also he looks grim most of the time so maybe he won’t be rolled over like last time. I guess I am so used to disappointment I just expect him to fail.

Zelinski should be made to pay back ever dollar our corrupt government gave him. No deals.

Excellent post! You have succinctly summed up the current situation abroad. I look forward to Trump running the table on our European “allies,” and to a REAL “restart” with the Russians.

There's another reason Putin wants peace, and that's the Chinese threat to their Far East. Currently, they buy oil and natural gas, but they've been complaining about the price. They might - having seen how successful the Russian Army has been in taking land in Ukraine for the past two and a half years (i.e. not very) go and decide to cross the Amur/Ussuri River like they did i 1969. Back then, they got cleaned out by the Red Army in about six months of fighting. But today's Russian Army is by no means the Red Army of 1969, and the PLA is far better equipped, disciplined, supplied, and trained - and constitutes a formidable potential threat.
