I despair at the possibility of reform sometimes simply due to the demographic reality of the US. How are "we" supposed to come together in the face of multiculturalism? The idea of fostering widespread fellow feeling and patriotism seems like a tall order when we're swamped with countless millions of 3rd world peasants

I don't see how anything can be really "fixed" in the four years he has and under the rules that are in place. That leaves a lot of alternatives and mostly they are bad, although maybe not worse than continuing on as we are.

I think the important point is that at some point in the last 4 years, a critical mass of Americans lost the belief that our major institutions could be reformed through the “normal” processes. This leaves them open to going along with novel or off script methods that will cause a lot of chaos because the guardians of the existing system recognize they are losing their grip on things. I think we were always headed for some kind of economic and political crisis because things simply could not go on as they were before, but when that moment arrived I couldn’t have said over 5 years ago, whereas every day since March 2020 made clear it was in the mail. There is much more to come, this cannot be resolved in a short time frame.

Funny how things that go around eventually come around. Soros almost bankrupted the Bank of England and the Bank gets its turn on Truss. Almost like a plan.

You cannot reform government because it is a warped concept from the get go. All you can do is try and limit its corruption, thievery and grifting.

Any ideas on how the housing market will behave? I bought a house recently and it looked like the price topped out at the end of last year.

I’m in the process of selling a house and hoping retirees see it as a safer place to park their cash than the market.

Good luck with it. I waited for years thinking the prices would fall but they only went up. I might have jinxed it though.

"Few want to consider that possibility"

Lots of people consider that possibility, all the time.

I have a feeling there have been a lot of executive board meetings like at the climax of the movie "Margin Call".
