One of the interesting things about the war in the Ukraine is it has not followed a predictable course. In the West, we have been conditioned by thirty years of war to assume certain things. The fact that those wars have been waged against primitive opponents has colored our understanding of war. It is always one technologically advanced side against an under-gunned side.
