Way back in my corporate days, the company I was with had acquired another company out of bankruptcy. I was put on the team to transition the newly acquired company into our way of doing things. It was a good learning experience, as it taught me how hard it is to change any system. Even the simplest changes felt like they required enormous amounts of time and energy. Inertia is a real thing.
