The formula for the romantic comedy always starts with a man and woman who are in some sort of a conflict. Sometimes they are placed in a situation that forces them to overcome their differences. In other cases, a third party tests their relationship and one or both comes to realize they love the other person. The situation or the third party is what drives the comedy part of the romantic comedy.
