The Mediocrity Of The Rings

A debate on this side of the great divide is why Hollywood puts so much effort into destroying its own intellectual property. They take a classic work and remake it with diversity or with a Mary Sue replacing the male lead. Other times they just remake something as a pure money grab. The result is a cheapening of the original product, suggesting they do not even respect their own work.

Of course, politics is the most common excuse. Even the pure money grabs, like all of the Star Wars movies, are packed with the usual statements. What we call the Left is really just a political cult and as such they politicize everything in order to enforce their perverse morality on the rest of us. What good is it to the cult to own the institutions if they cannot use that power to impose their will?
