Robot Overlords

When I lived in Lagos, the grocery store I frequented slowly moved away from the traditional checkout line system to self-service. Covid was their excuse for accelerating the process, but that was probably a lie. Every retailer has dreamed of a world where they no longer need cashiers. If they can shift that cost onto their customer, then they can add that to their bottom line.
