In prior reviews of Hitchcock films, I confessed to not understanding the appeal of the man who many claim is a cinematic genius. His films are well done and have a signature quality to them, but they tend to be films about nothing. They also rely on plot twists and devices that strain credulity. Someone supposedly said that Hitchcock was a man with nothing to say who said it well. That seems right.
