Throughout reviewing the AFI top-100 films, I have brought up the fact that certain films are on the list for reasons other than being good films. The Jazz Singer, for example, is close to unwatchable, but it is on the list for historic reasons. Duck Soup is on the list because they wanted the Marx Brothers on the list. M*A*S*H was put on the list because the people who made the list hate me.
