My first real place of my own was a studio apartment that was about ten by ten, with a little alcove for the fridge and stove. There was a bathroom, but the door only opened about halfway until it hit the toilet. You had to slide into it then close the door behind you if you needed to use the toilet. There was one window and it looked out over a graveyard, where the local hobos often congregated.
