Gay Germs

One of the puzzles within the human sciences is the persistence of homosexuality in human populations. What we think we know about evolution says that anything that works against fitness should die out in a population. There are few things more detrimental to fitness than homosexuality. If there is a gay gene, as many claim, it should have gone extinct a long time ago.
