The chess game that is unfolding between the Trump administration and the Blob is going to be fun to watch for many reasons. At some point Trump will unload on one of these nutty judges and that will be amusing. Lost in all of it is the tension that always exists between formal systems and their informal implementation. There is always friction between the hidden rules and the explicit rules.
