The Tucker Carlson affair is a good lesson in the feudalism at the heart of the modern American economy. Most people think of feudalism and then think of knights on chargers rescuing damsels in distress. That is part of it, but feudalism is a system of reciprocal relationships between a powerful elite. In the past, this meant a warrior elite that controlled land and the people on the land.
